OUR SERVICES...........
Sioux Trails Mental Health Center provides resources designed to intervene where mental health and emotional problems exist.  Sioux Trails provides the following services:

Individual and Group Therapy................
Common problems include anxiety, depression, stress, child behavior problems, general "problems in living", abuse issues and mental illness.  We assist you in finding healthy solutions.

Marriage and Family Therapy.................
In the life cycle of the family, difficulties can arise that affect the health, well-being, and functioning of family members.  Conflicts can develop between parents, or parents and children.  Distance may grow between family members.   Emotional or behavior problems may occur.  Finding solutions to these universal family and relationship problems is the goal of marriage and family therapy.   When indicated this service can be provided in the home.

Assessment and Evaluation....................
Assessment and evaluation are provided to individuals, families, courts, human service agencies, schools and firms as requested.  Home visits may be used to accomplish a comprehensive evaluation.

Children's Mental Health Services...........
Children suffer from behavioral problems, depression, anxiety, and the after-effects of trauma.  Accurate assessment, diagnosis, and treatment by mental health professionals are essential in recovery from these problems.  Specific services include:

                                             Psychological testing/evaluation
                 Play therapy
                                 Consultation to schools
                                 Childrens day treatment

Consultation and Educational Services....................
Sioux Trails staff consult with schools regarding behavior and/or learning problems in school-age children.  We assist in the development of special programs to meet the particular needs of school-age children.  We conduct inservice training for physicians, teachers, nurses, clergy, caseworkers, police, business personnel and others.   We provide informational and education service on a broad range of topics to the general public.

Sexual Assault Services..........................
Sioux Trails provides a variety of sexual assault services. 
                These include:        24 Hour crisis intervention
                                             Crisis counseling
                                             Volunteer advocacy
                                             Consultation/public speaking
                                             Training/curriculum development
                                             Bilingual (Hispanic) Services

Emergency/Crisis Services................................
Crisis intervention services are available to you 24 hours a day.  By calling 1-800-247-2809, you can talk to a mental health professional.  The 24 hour toll free number is also accessible to the hearing impaired through a relay service.

Medication Management....................................
Prescriptions and monitoring of psychotropic medication for children and adults are done by our psychiatry staff.

The Center..............................................
Sioux Trails Mental Health Center was founded in 1965.  Sioux Trails provides professional, community-based mental health services.  These include therapy, assessment, consultation and education.  The goal is to increase emotional/behavioral well-being.  Sioux Trails is a fully certified mental health center.  Services are available in New Ulm, Springfield, Sleepy Eye, St. Peter, North Mankato, Gaylord, St. James, Madelia, and when appropriate, in the home.

Fees.........................................
Fees are reimbursed by insurance, Prepaid Medical Assistance, Medicare, and/or personal check.  A sliding fee scale is available that is based on income, family size and county of residence.
