Les Schultz and Mary Ann Wonn accepted the MN Corrections Association's President's Award for 2009 on October 28, 2009. This award is given out annually to programs that demonstrate professionalism and dedication to reducing crime in Minnesota. Brown County Teen Court has been in operation for 11 years and over 700 adolescent offenders have been through this program. Research shows offenders sentenced by their peers are less likely to commit future crimes, pay back monetary damages faster and have more remorse for their actions. Over 70 jurors are trained to hear cases throughout Brown County.
