Cognitive Skills Program (Adult/Juvenile)

Cognitive skills is a program whereby offenders learn cognitive restructuring, social skills development, and development of problem solving skills. Brown County Probation offers two types of programming: Thinking for a Change and Driving with Care. The length of the programs varys betweens 12-17 weeks based upon the curriculm and other calendar events (holidays, etc...) These program meet on a weekly basis for approximately two hours per session. Cognitives Skills are taught by probation staff and part-time educators. Classes are held at the Brown County License Bureau. Cognitive classes cost $250.00 for adults and $125 for adolescents. There is a $50 fee reduction for the Adult classes if there is perfect attendance and the program fee is paid by the last class session.
