Probation Department Duties

Print

Brown County Probation Department has the responsibility to provide adult misdemeanor, gross misdemeanor and juvenile probation services to the district court. All adult felony offenders (with the exception of most felony DWI’s) are supervised by the Department of Corrections. Brown County Probation staff supervise, counsel and assist probation offenders so they may make a satisfactory adjustment in our communities. This is done through offender contact and visits as well as contact with schools, employers, family members, victims, counselors, and law enforcement. All offenders on probation sign an agreement outlining acceptable behavior and court obligations. The court is informed when offenders are not complying with supervision requirements.
