Requesting Rides:Heartland1

Calling to request ride(s) should be done by calling 359-2717 or toll free 1-800-707-2717 between 8 a.m. and 3 p.m. Monday through Friday. Request for rides need to be called in no later than 3 p.m. on the day prior to wanting the ride. Rides for Sunday and Monday need to be called in prior to 3:00 p.m. on Fridays. Rides can be requested up to two weeks in advance.  Calls received after 3 p.m. for rides needed the next day will be honored for medical appointments only at the start of the next business day.

Actual pickup times could be adjusted based on the transit system's needs. Heartland Express will try to do everything possible to honor passenger's needs in a cost efficient fashion.

All riders should be ready 10 minutes before the scheduled arrival or departure times.

Standard wait time for the driver at a pickup location will be up to 3 minutes. It is very important to keep on time. The later the passenger is, the later the rest of the schedule gets making everyone else late as the day goes on. This is very important with a tight schedule that does not allow much flexibility.


Cancellations of rides need to be made up to 1 hour prior to the scheduled pickup time. This allows time for the dispatcher to contact the bus driver that was scheduled to make the pickup. This saves unnecessary travel time and is a cost saving for everyone.
