Absentee Voting began for the August primary.

Minnesota’s Primary Election Day is August 9, but you don’t need to wait until then to cast your ballot.  Early voting started June 24.  You can apply now for a ballot to be mailed to you, or vote early in person.  Click on Brown County - Voting Early or the Voting Early tab for more information.

Extended Voting Hours

The Brown County Auditor- Treasurer’s Office will be offering extended election hours on Saturday, August 6th, from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. to allow voters to cast absentee ballots or return mailed ballots in advance of the Primary Election set for August 9th. Mail ballots from mail ballot precincts can be accepted until 8pm on Election night.

Redistricting is the process of redrawing the boundaries of election districts to ensure that the people of each district are equally represented after the completion of Congressional reapportionment following the Decennial Census. The Public Hearing to Consider Plans for Redistricting of County Commissioner Districts and Approve County Redistricting Plan was held during the regular board meeting on Tuesday, April 19, 2022.

Candidates for Federal, State, County Commissioner and Soil and Water Supervisor, and City & School District Offices where a primary is possible may file from May 17, 2022 until May 31, 2022 at 5 pm. See the below notice for offices that will be voted for at the state general election in 2022.
