Foster care is a temporary arrangement for children whose parents are struggling and are unable to take care of them. When possible, human service agencies will work with families to keep kids safe and meet their needs at home; unfortunately, sometimes that is not possible and it is necessary for kids to be placed in foster care.
Thank you for your interest in foster care. Brown County Staff will support you throughout your foster care inquiry and parenting with ongoing communication, licensing and training information.
Adult foster care assists individuals, 18 years of age and older, who are unable to live alone, with a living arrangement, or other basic needs as appropriate. Qualified adults may be frail, elderly, have emotional, physical, or mental health needs, or other circumstances that make them dependent on others for care. Adult foster care recipients may be able to attend school, work or day programs.
At this time, Brown County Human Services does not offer any services for private adoptions. If you are interested in adopting special needs children that are state wards, we can connect you with the appropriate agencies who offer those services.
