Riders are expected to follow these rules of common courtesy and behavior when riding Heartland Express:
- Fares are paid upon boarding. Drivers do not carry change, so please use exact change or tokens.
- Ride safe! Always wear a seatbelt.
- Be ready to board bus up to 10 minutes before scheduled pickup time and be visible to driver upon arrival. Driver will not wait beyond three minutes for boarding of the bus.
- If the bus has not arrived within 10 minutes after scheduled pickup time, call dispatch at 507-359-2717 or 800-707-2717.
- Bus will pick you up from the door of your pickup location and drop you off at the door of your destination.
- Call with cancellations ASAP as no shows will prevent our system from functioning efficiently as possible. Three no shows will result in suspension of bus service.
- Always be considerate of other passengers. Inappropriate language will not be tolerated.
- Do not block the aisle.
- There is a limit of four bags per rider. You are responsible for your belongings.
- No smoking on or near bus.
- Shoes and shirt are required.
- Remain seated for entire ride.
- No firearms, weapons, fireworks, hazardous materials or chemicals.
Driver Responsibilities:
- Drivers will provide safe, courteous and respectful service.
- They will assist passengers on and off the bus safely as needed.
- They will provide use of wheelchair accessible lift upon request for boarding and departing.
Other guidelines:
- Service animals are allowed.
- We are not responsible for lost items.
- We reserve the right to refuse transportation to any individual at our discretion.
