Rider Guide

Rides must be requested one business day prior to day of the ride.

Ride requests can be made up to 14 days in advance.

Same day requests will be honored if our prescheduled routes allow.

Heartland Express Policies

No Show Policy:

It is Brown County Heartland Express intention to pick up and drop off all passengers in a timely manner. When we have passengers that no show the bus it disrupts our system. If you are not going to need the bus please make sure to give as much advance notice to the transit system as possible? If you no show the bus 3 times, we will call you and let you know that you will be suspended from the bus for 2 weeks. If you no show the bus 3 more times we will again notify you by phone, you that you would be banned from using the bus for one month. Continuous no shows will ban you from the bus for life.

Animal Policy:

Brown County Heartland Express allows service animals, and pets on the bus. Service animals must be in the passengers procession at all times, and must be leashed and not allowed to sit in the seat. Pets are allowed on the bus as long as they are in an approved carrier. The carrier must be handled by the passenger at all times. At NO TIME will the driver handle the carrier. Also the animals must be well behaved and the passenger must control their animal from loud barking or other animal noises. It will be at the discretion of transit management if any of these rules are not followed to not allow future rides on the bus for the animals.

$1.50 or 1 white token, one way
In County:
$3.00 or two white tokens, one way
Nutrition Site:
$.75 or one Blue Token, one way (New Ulm Nutrition Site Only)

  • Package of 10 white tokens $13 ($15 value) are available at most area banks and grocery stores throughout the county and at the Heartland Express Office.
  • Packages of 10 blue tokens $6.50 ($7.50 value) are available only at the New Ulm Senior Dining Site and the Heartland Express Office
