Agriculture Best Management Practices Loan Program (AgBMP)

The Agriculture Best Management Practices Loan Program (AgBMP) is a water quality program that provides low-interest loans to farmers, rural landowners, and agriculture supply businesses. The purpose is to encourage agricultural Best Management Practices that prevent or reduce runoff from feedlots, farm fields and other pollution problems identified by the county in local water plans.

  • Various other projects to improve water quality

What are the details, and how do I get started?

The AgBMP Loan Program is able to fund any activity or practice that helps to improve water quality, or that helps maintain high water quality.  Loans may only be used to solve existing water quality problems, not for new construction or refinancing.

  • Maximum interest rate 3%
  • Maximum loan term length is 10 years
  • Frequency of payments are determined by lender
  • Maximum loan amount of $200,000
