The Sheriff’s Office Patrol Division is one of the most visible services offered by the Sheriff’s Office. The Chief Deputy and Patrol Sergeant command the Patrol Division. Uniformed deputies provide law enforcement services for the sixteen townships, 1060 miles of roadways, and the unincorporated villages throughout Brown County.
They also provide backup assistance to the local police departments. Patrol deputies are responsible for the protection of life, property, and the prevention of crime, detention, preservation of public peace, and enforcement of traffic laws. These highly trained deputies strive to provide professional, courteous, and courageous law enforcement services that are vital to the citizens of Brown County. In addition to their regular duties, some deputies are assigned specialized duties such as commercial vehicle enforcement, firearms instructor, and community relations.
